Lucknow | A case of impersonation in the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination came to light in Lucknow, where a candidate was arrested for allegedly appearing in the examination using fake identity documents and also attempting to reappear in another shift.
According to official information, on June 10, 2026, during the first shift (10 AM to 12 Noon) of the examination conducted at Centre No. 59006, Baba Thakur Das Inter College, Kaiserbagh, Lucknow, a candidate identified as Ram Avtar, son of Rampal, resident of Village Nangla Shishram, District Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, was found appearing in the examination.
During routine technical scrutiny by the examination centre’s technical team, led by Pradeep Kumar and Centre In-charge Arun Kumar, it was discovered that the same individual had earlier appeared in the examination on June 08, 2026, in the second shift at Khalsa Inter College, Naka Hindola, Lucknow, under a different identity.
In the earlier attempt, the candidate allegedly appeared using the name Veeru, son of Rajveer Singh, claiming a different residential address in Mathura district. The discrepancy was detected during verification and technical analysis of candidate records.

Following confirmation of impersonation and use of forged identity documents, the candidate was taken into custody. A formal complaint was submitted by the technical team, and necessary documents were forwarded for legal action.
Based on the complaint, Case Crime No. 105/2026 was registered at Police Station Kaiserbagh, Lucknow, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) including 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), and 340(2), along with Sections 8 and 13(5) of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Ordinance, 2024.
The arrested accused has been identified as Ram Avtar, aged approximately 25 years. Police have initiated further legal proceedings, and a detailed investigation is underway to determine whether the accused was part of a larger examination fraud network.
Authorities stated that strict action is being taken to ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment examination process.
