Deepanshu Deep Brings Laurels to University Cultural Centre at Environment Festival
Bareilly: A student of the University Cultural Centre of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has secured first place in a speech competition on environmental conservation, bringing recognition and pride to the institution.
According to Dr. Jyoti Pandey, Cultural Coordinator, the competition was organized as part of a seven-day Environment Festival held from May 29 to June 5 under the joint auspices of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Bareilly College, the EAC Society, and Brij Vigyan Bharti. The festival was conducted in conjunction with a seminar on “Environmental Issues and Challenges in the 21st Century.”
The speech competition, held on June 1, 2026, was based on the theme “Inspired by Nature, For the Climate, For Our Future.” Representing the University Cultural Centre, student Deepanshu Deep participated in the event and delivered an impressive presentation highlighting the importance of environmental protection, climate action, and sustainable development.
The results were announced on World Environment Day, June 5, with Deepanshu Deep emerging as the first-place winner among participants. His achievement was widely appreciated and celebrated within the university community.
The accomplishment has earned praise from university authorities, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh, Registrar Mahendra Kumar, and Controller of Examinations Sanjeev Kumar Singh, who congratulated the student for his outstanding performance.

Dr. Jyoti Pandey, along with Bareilly College Principal Prof. O.P. Rai, Vice-Principal Prof. Vandana Sharma, Head of Department Prof. Jaspal Singh, members of the Cultural Committee, Cultural Club, and the university’s Media Cell, also extended their congratulations and best wishes.
Faculty members, officers, and staff, including Dr. Vinay Verma and Tapan Verma, lauded Deepanshu’s achievement, describing it as a reflection of the university’s commitment to promoting awareness on important social and environmental issues through cultural and academic activities.
The victory highlights the growing engagement of students in environmental advocacy and reinforces Rohilkhand University’s efforts to encourage youth participation in sustainability and climate-related initiatives.
