Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export Dinesh Pratap Singh conducted an extensive review of horticulture schemes and inaugurated key infrastructure projects in Lucknow, Sitapur, and Lakhimpur Kheri on Friday.
The minister began his visit in the Bakshi Ka Talab area of Lucknow, where he inspected farms of cultivators benefiting from various Horticulture Department schemes. During his interaction with farmers, he reviewed the implementation of government programmes, assessed crop production, and sought feedback on departmental services.
Singh directed officials to ensure that the benefits of horticulture schemes reach eligible farmers in a transparent and time-bound manner. He stressed the importance of efficient implementation so that farmers can fully utilise government support aimed at enhancing productivity and income.
Later, the minister visited Sitapur and Lakhimpur Kheri, where he inspected horticulture infrastructure projects developed by the department. At a public function in Lakhimpur Kheri, he inaugurated several completed projects intended to strengthen the state’s horticulture sector.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to modernising horticulture through advanced technology, improved infrastructure, and stronger marketing systems. He noted that the newly developed facilities would help farmers access better services while improving the preservation, processing, and marketing of agricultural and horticultural produce.
The minister instructed officials to maintain high construction quality standards for all departmental projects and launch extensive awareness campaigns to ensure every eligible farmer is informed about and benefits from government schemes.
He reiterated that the state government remains focused on increasing farmers’ incomes by promoting horticulture, encouraging value addition in agricultural produce, and expanding market opportunities through sustained policy support and infrastructure development.
The Horticulture Department also announced that Dinesh Pratap Singh will visit Pilibhit on July 25, where he will inspect farms of beneficiaries under various horticulture schemes, interact with farmers, and inaugurate additional horticulture infrastructure and development projects in the district.
