Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Monday interacted with hundreds of citizens during a public grievance hearing programme, Janata Darshan, held at his official residence at 7 Kalidas Marg in Lucknow. Listening personally to complaints and requests from people arriving from various districts of the state, Maurya assured prompt and fair action on every genuine issue raised before him.
Demonstrating a hands-on approach, the Deputy Chief Minister met complainants individually, received their representations, and directed officials to ensure timely resolution of their concerns. He also reassured citizens that their grievances would be addressed in accordance with established rules and procedures.
Immediate Instructions to District Officials
Taking serious note of several complaints presented during the programme, Maurya contacted senior administrative and police officials from multiple districts directly over the phone and issued instructions for swift action.
He directed district authorities in Mainpuri and Deoria to resolve matters related to land disputes, revenue administration, and local development projects in a transparent and lawful manner.
Similarly, he spoke with senior police officials from Basti, Mathura, and Hamirpur regarding complaints concerning law and order, alleged harassment, and pending police cases. He emphasized that delays in delivering justice to citizens would not be tolerated.
Warning Against Administrative Negligence
Addressing officials, the Deputy Chief Minister stressed that resolving public grievances remains one of the government’s highest priorities.
“Prompt and impartial disposal of public complaints is essential. Any negligence, delay, or casual approach on the part of officials will invite strict disciplinary action,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to accountable governance and citizen welfare.
Wide Range of Issues Raised
People from various parts of Uttar Pradesh attended the Janata Darshan programme, including senior citizens, women, and young applicants seeking assistance on diverse issues.
Among the major concerns raised were requests for financial support for medical treatment, complaints regarding illegal land encroachments, allegations of harassment, demands for action in pending police matters, and applications related to employment opportunities and local development initiatives.
Maurya assured all attendees that their representations would be examined carefully and that necessary action would be initiated without unnecessary delay.
Political Message on Public Trust
During his interaction with the media, the Deputy Chief Minister also took a swipe at opposition parties without naming any specific leader or organisation.
He remarked that in a democratic system, public trust is more important than money or muscle power.
“People today are aware and politically conscious. Some believe that wealth and influence alone can secure political success, but true leadership is earned through the trust, affection, and blessings of the people. Public confidence is the foundation of lasting leadership,” he said.
Maurya added that the state government remains committed to public welfare and continues to work with the objective of ensuring responsive governance and effective delivery of services to citizens across Uttar Pradesh.
