Saharanpur: CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 325 development projects worth ₹2,131 crore in Saharanpur, asserting that the district is rapidly emerging as a major growth centre in western Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing a large public gathering at Jadauda Jatt village in Deoband, the Chief Minister said the projects would accelerate infrastructure development, improve connectivity, generate employment, and strengthen urban and rural facilities across all seven assembly constituencies of the district.
The package includes the inauguration of 184 projects worth ₹500 crore and the foundation laying of 141 projects valued at ₹1,631 crore. During the event, the Chief Minister also distributed certificates, symbolic cheques, and benefits to beneficiaries under several welfare schemes, including the Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Scheme, One District One Product (ODOP), Nand Baba Milk Mission, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and other social welfare initiatives.
Highlighting the transformation of the region, Yogi Adityanath said Saharanpur is now being recognised globally for its world-class wood carving craftsmanship under the ODOP initiative. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the “double-engine government” for driving rapid infrastructure and industrial growth in the state.
The Chief Minister noted that the recently inaugurated six-lane Delhi-Dehradun Expressway has drastically reduced travel time between Saharanpur and Delhi from nearly six hours to around two-and-a-half hours. He also announced that the state’s first industrial and logistics hub along the Delhi-Dehradun corridor is being developed in Saharanpur, a move expected to create thousands of jobs for local youth.
Referring to the recently inaugurated Ganga Expressway stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, Yogi said the new connectivity network would significantly improve travel for residents of western Uttar Pradesh.
“People from Saharanpur will now be able to reach Lucknow in around six hours and Prayagraj in approximately seven-and-a-half hours,” he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the rapid progress of major infrastructure projects in the region, including the construction of an airport in Saharanpur, sports colleges, degree colleges, modern bus stations, RCC drainage systems, and improved urban road networks under Smart City initiatives.

Paying tribute to the religious significance of the region, Yogi Adityanath said extensive redevelopment work is underway at the revered Shakumbhari Devi temple corridor. He said an elevated highway and modern public amenities are being developed to improve facilities for lakhs of devotees visiting the shrine during Navratri and other festivals.
Emphasising law and order improvements in Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister said the state has transformed from a “disturbed and backward” region into a major economic growth engine of the country. He stated that before 2017, Saharanpur frequently witnessed riots, poor connectivity, and lack of investment, while today it is experiencing industrial growth, enhanced security, and infrastructure expansion.
Yogi Adityanath said the state government has ensured transparent recruitment processes and equal access to welfare schemes without discrimination. He added that hundreds of youth from Saharanpur are now securing government jobs, particularly in police recruitment drives.
The Chief Minister also reiterated the government’s tough stance on crime and anti-national activities, stating that Uttar Pradesh is now free from mafias, curfews, and large-scale lawlessness. He said security agencies, including the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), remain vigilant to safeguard public safety and national security.
Calling upon citizens and public representatives to actively participate in development and monitoring of government projects, the Chief Minister said public cooperation is essential for ensuring quality infrastructure and protecting national assets.
