Bareilly: The Department of Pharmacy at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University successfully organized a seminar and interactive dialogue programme on the occasion of Somnath Swabhimaan Parv. The event, conducted under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor K. P. Singh, emerged as a confluence of cultural pride, spiritual awareness, and academic engagement.
The programme was anchored by M.Pharm student Aditi. It began with an address by Head of Department Prof. Kamal Kishore, who highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the Somnath Temple. He emphasized that the festival serves as a reminder of India’s rich heritage and inspires society to stay connected to its traditions. He also encouraged students to contribute towards preserving national unity and cultural values.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Kaushal Kumar, stressed the importance of understanding one’s cultural identity and embracing the nation’s rich heritage with pride. Students actively participated in the session, sharing their thoughts on the symbolic importance of Somnath Temple as a representation of faith and self-respect.

Adding a creative dimension to the event, B.Pharm students Tanishq, Medha Gangwar, Preeti, Suhani, Shagun, Priyanshi, and Rianshi created rangoli designs themed on Somnath Temple, reflecting enthusiasm and cultural expression.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Kamal Kishore, who remarked that the history of Somnath teaches resilience and the power of perseverance despite challenges. Faculty members, researchers, and students attended the event in large numbers, making it both insightful and inspiring.
