National PG College, Lucknow Hosts Industry–Institute Meet on NATS and AEDP

Lucknow: National PG College, Lucknow, in collaboration with Board of Apprenticeship Training Northern Region, Kanpur, successfully organized an Industry–Institute Meet on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP) at its auditorium.

The event aimed to strengthen industry–academia collaboration, promote apprenticeship opportunities, and highlight the importance of integrating apprenticeship into degree programs.

The program was graced by Mr. Vivek Kumar, Director, BOAT (NR), as the Chief Guest. Around 90 industry professionals participated, representing leading organizations such as Indorama, Lulu Mall, IFFCO, Finkart, Piccadilly Holiday Resorts, Radico Khaitan, and Tata Motors.

Additionally, nearly 20 universities and colleges, including Dr. Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University, Integral University, Government Polytechnic, Unnao, and Agriculture University, Banda, actively participated. Representatives from Central Drug Research Institute and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research were also present.

NATS alumni were felicitated, and their success stories were shared to inspire students. In his welcome address, Prof. Devendra Kumar Singh, Principal, National PG College, stated:“National PG College has consistently worked toward bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. AEDP is a transformative initiative that equips students with practical experience alongside academic learning.”

Prof. Jyoti Bhargava, Coordinator – Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Programme (AEDP), National PG College, Lucknow, who also moderated the entire event, stated:

“AEDP is a significant step toward building a strong synergy between academia and industry. The active participation of industry leaders and academic institutions in today’s event reflects the growing importance of experiential learning. Our aim is to equip students not only with academic knowledge but also with industry-relevant skills, ensuring they are fully prepared for the evolving job market.”

Naveen Kumar Pathak, Assistant Director, BOAT NR, highlighted: “NATS provides a structured pathway for students to gain hands-on training in real industry environments, enhancing their employability.”

Chief Guest  Vivek Kumar emphasized: “NATS and AEDP are key initiatives of the Government of India aimed at skill development and industry-oriented education.” The college also announced its plan to introduce AEDP programs in BBA (Logistics) and B.Sc. (Digital Electronics), subject to approval from the university. The event featured presentations, alumni felicitation, industry-led case studies, a panel discussion on AEDP implementation and impact, followed by a Q&A session and networking brunch.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, students, parents, and industry professionals, marking a significant step toward strengthening industry-integrated education in Uttar Pradesh.
