Students showcase their talent in band performances, march past and drill
Lucknow: City Montessori School, Gomti Nagar Extension Campus, organised the
Inter-School Band Competition “Echoes of Valour–2026” in the school auditorium. Held to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram, the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from various CMS campuses as well as several prestigious schools. The students not only displayed their musical excellence but also presented a remarkable blend of patriotism and team spirit.
The competition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Ratn Sanjay, IPS, Additional Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. In his address, Ratn Sanjay lauded the event and stated that such programmes foster holistic development among students while strengthening their sense of citizenship, community spirit, and teamwork. He further remarked that the sounds of a band energize citizens and inspire a deeper sense of dedication towards the nation.


On the occasion of the inaugural ceremony, a melodious flute performance by Master Ishaan left the audience deeply moved. Thereafter, the band competitions commenced, wherein participating students presented a spectacular display through march past, band performances, drill, and formations, captivating the audience. The participants showcased their multifaceted talents through intricate formations, precise synchronization, and excellent teamwork, leaving the spectators spellbound. The panel of judges from the AMC Centre and College highly appreciated the enthusiasm, discipline, and coordination displayed by the students. At the conclusion of the competitions, the winning teams were awarded and honoured.
On this occasion, the Principal of CMS Gomti Nagar Extension Campus, Anupama Checker, stated that “Echoes of Valour” is not merely a competition but a celebration of youth power, whose remarkable abilities, unity, and coordination have filled everyone with pride. She further emphasized that CMS is committed to identifying students’ talents, encouraging them in their areas of interest, and providing ample opportunities for them to excel. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Vice Principal Medha Parashar.
