Mumbai: Saee Barve is seen in Ishika Shahi’s new show Heer Sharma Gayi. Produced by Rajan Shahi under his banner, Director’s Kut Production, it is streaming on their official YouTube channel from April 10. The actress is quite excited for the audience to watch the show, as it feels very fresh and interesting.
She said, “Honestly, this looks like a blockbuster rom-com movie! I’m very excited. The kind of love and buzz Heer Sharma Gayi is already receiving feels really special. I can’t wait for the audience to get entertained, watch it on repeat, and share it with their friends and family. As an actor, that’s what you truly hope for that people relate to it and take a piece of it with them.”
She calls it a refreshing rom-com and said, “I was genuinely excited to come on board. What really stood out was that they have showcase the real emotional struggle of today’s generation… It felt fresh, honest, and something the audience would truly connect with.”
Talking about her character, Saee shared that she plays Heer’s mother, Savita. She said, “It’s a beautiful and layered character, a loving and rooted Indian mother who is simple, emotional, and deeply devoted to her family, especially her daughter. She is quiet and suppressed but carries a lot of strength and love within her.”
“What makes her stand out is her journey; there comes a moment when she finally finds her voice and answers fearlessly, standing up for her daughter. That transformation is what makes her truly special,” she added.

For her, the show is similar to Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Jab We Met yet different fresh in its own way.. She added, “What I loved most is that it’s a complete family entertainer where every character has its own moments and everything feels relatable. The writing is very engaging, and the heroine’s character is such a vibe. I’m sure people are going to love her.”
Asked if she faced any challenges while playing her character, she said, “My character is very emotional and layered, so it was important to keep her vulnerability real without overdoing it. I prepared by understanding her backstory, her silences, and her emotional triggers.”
“I focused on keeping the performance subtle and honest so that the audience could truly connect with Indian moms. I hope I’ve lived up to Ishika and Rishi sir’s expectations and portrayed the character the way they envisioned it,” Saee ended..
