SRMS CET to Host Three-Day Hackathon 4.0 from April 2; 205 Participants from Six States to Compete

Bareilly: Following the grand success of its previous editions, Shri Ram Murti Smarak College of Engineering and Technology (SRMS CET) is all set to host Hackathon 4.0 from April 2 to 4, 2026. The three-day event will be conducted under the theme: “Innovate for Impact: Tech Solutions for Advancing SDGs.” The announcement was made by Dr. Prabhakar Gupta, Principal of SRMS CET and Event Director of Hackathon 4.0.

Dr. Gupta highlighted that the hackathon, organized by the college’s Tech Age Cell, aims to promote innovation and technological solutions for disaster management, while providing a platform for young innovators, tech experts, and problem solvers from across India. Participants will develop impactful tech solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), transforming their ideas into prototypes and working models.

Hackathon 4.0 encourages innovation in areas such as sustainable development, healthcare, smart infrastructure, and environmental solutions. Winning teams stand a chance to receive prizes worth ₹1 lakh, along with guidance from industry experts, technical workshops, evaluation sessions, and other engaging rewards, making it a comprehensive learning and innovation experience.

The formal announcement for Hackathon 4.0 was made on January 1, 2026, which received enthusiastic responses from engineering colleges across the country. 123 innovative ideas were submitted from colleges in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Delhi-NCR, including cities like Coimbatore, Erode, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Haridwar, Haldwani, Greater Noida, Lucknow, Moradabad, and Bareilly. After rigorous evaluation by a panel of experts, 96 ideas were shortlisted, out of which 60 teams comprising 205 participants (130 boys and 75 girls) have registered for the final phase.

Hackathon 4.0 will officially commence on April 2 at 11:30 AM with an expert discussion. Over the next three days, teams will work intensively to develop prototypes and models for their proposed solutions, presenting them before a panel of industry experts, academicians, and innovators. The winners will be announced on Saturday, April 4, at 3:30 PM, followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
