Bareilly: Two students from the Cultural Center of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJP RU), Bareilly will represent the university and the Bareilly region at the national-level Young Parliament after winning at the district level.
The program, organized nationally by the Dainik Jagran Group, aims to develop an understanding of parliamentary democratic systems among youth. At the district-level competition, four students from MJP RU’s Cultural Center participated: Sunaina Saxena and Deepanshu Deep secured first positions representing the Pro and Opposition sides respectively, while Akshita Parashari and Inam Khan achieved third place.
From across major cities of India, 74 young winners were selected for the national-level program. They underwent 15 days of online training, familiarizing themselves with parliamentary procedures and rules. The national-level Young Parliament was held on March 30-31, 2026, at Miranda House, New Delhi.
The top two students from MJP RU represented the university and the district in discussions on key national issues including ‘One Nation, One Election’, broadcasting service reforms, and judicial reforms.

The achievement was widely appreciated by the university administration, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh, Registrar Mr. Harish Chand, Controller of Examinations Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey, faculty heads, teachers, officers, staff, and members of the Cultural Club, who extended their best wishes to the students.
