‘Generation AI @2047 Summit’ Held in Lucknow, Minister Calls AI the Most Transformative Force of the Future

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Department of Information Technology and Electronics organized the grand ‘Generation AI @2047 Summit’ in Lucknow, placing Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the center of the state’s development vision. The event, held at a city hotel, witnessed participation from government officials, industry experts, academicians, and students.

Cabinet Minister for IT and Electronics Sunil Kumar Sharma, who attended as the chief guest, described AI as the “most transformative force of the future.” He emphasized that the state government is preparing youth to compete globally by equipping them with advanced technological skills.

The summit began with a student project exhibition, where participants associated with the IBM SkillsBuild program showcased AI-based innovations, reflecting strong technical capabilities and creativity among young minds. This was followed by Generation AI Pitches, where budding innovators presented their ideas, promoting a vibrant startup and innovation ecosystem.

Panel discussions featuring administrators, educators, and industry experts explored the opportunities and challenges of AI, with a focus on its responsible and ethical use.

In his address, Sharma highlighted the success of the AI Pragya Initiative, aimed at providing AI training to students and the general public. He noted that while some concerns exist around AI, those who learn to use it effectively will emerge as the most empowered.

The minister also stated that efforts are underway to develop Lucknow as an AI hub and urged stakeholders to aim for global leadership rather than merely keeping pace with the world. He referenced initiatives such as the UP AI Mission, along with collaborations involving IBM SkillsBuild and 1M1B, which are helping connect large numbers of students to AI and digital skills.

Calling for responsible adoption, Sharma encouraged participants to take an AI Pledge and contribute actively toward building a technology-driven future.

The summit concluded with the felicitation of institutions, educators, and students for their outstanding contributions, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to fostering AI-driven innovation, skill development, and policy dialogue.
