Gonda: The fourth day of the seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) special camp at Saraswati Devi Nari Gyansthali PG College witnessed a series of social awareness and fitness activities aimed at community development and student participation.
The day began with a cleanliness drive at the premises of Maharshi Aurobindo Bal Shiksha Mandir, where NSS volunteers cleaned the campus as part of their service initiative. Following the cleanliness activity, yoga sessions were conducted by yoga trainers Anjani Kumar Dubey and Karunesh Patel, encouraging students to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
After refreshments, NSS Programme Officers Dr. Mausami Singh and Dr. Neetu Singh guided the volunteers in organizing a “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” awareness rally. The rally passed through Uprahitan Purwa and Rani Purwa villages and concluded at the residence of Janakinagar Gram Pradhan Shiv Bahadur Pandey. During the event, volunteers educated villagers about the importance of saving and educating the girl child and also staged a street play to spread awareness.
Students including Lakshmi, Jyoti, Ananda, Nisha, Kashish, Khushi, and Shreya actively participated in the awareness activities. After lunch, a poster competition on the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was organized with participation from 30 students. Shraddha Gangwar secured the first position, while Mariyam and Purnima Shukla jointly secured the second place, and Nisha Yadav won the third position.
During the intellectual session, Irfan and his team from Radio Gyansthali 89.6 FM provided detailed information about government schemes and the MDA program. Later in the day, sports trainer Laxmi Devi organized a Kho-Kho competition among the participants.
NSS staff members Vijay Prakash Srivastava and Dinesh Srivastava also played a significant role in successfully organizing the day’s activities.
