LUCKNOW | The District Level Junior Boys/Girls sports competitions, organized under the leadership of the Directorate of Sports, U.P. and the Regional Sports Office, Lucknow, officially commenced and are scheduled to run through March 16, 2026.
The opening day featured a high-stakes girls’ football tournament held at Chowk Stadium in Lucknow. The event was inaugurated by Shri Atul Sinha, Regional Sports Officer of Lucknow, in the presence of Deputy Sports Officers Shri Rajesh Kumar Gaur and Shri Ariband Sik Kushwah, District Football Association Secretary Shri Kanhaiyalal, and Football Coach Shri Sajjad Hussain.
A total of eight teams participated in the competition, which was conducted on a knockout basis. The final match saw an intense face-off between Vidyagyan School Lucknow and SVF Club. After both teams failed to score during regular play, the match moved to a tie-breaker, where Vidyagyan School secured a 3-2 victory to claim the top spot.The winning squad from Vidyagyan School Lucknow included Ekta Gupta, Tanu Tiwari, Payal Joshi, Garima Chauhan, Anu Yadav, Priyanka, Sania Gupta, Ananya Yadav, Anupriya Paswan, Sonakshi Rawat, Kirti Yadav, Narendra Kaur, Marchiana, Ganga, Navya Gupta, and Sonam Prajapati.
The runner-up team, SVF Club, was represented by Nidhi Singh, Aditi Verma, Aastha Singh, Arpita Kashyap, Sargam Chauhan, Lovely, Radha, Dolly, Sonam, Kajal, Arpita Tiwari, Archana, Saloni, and Surbhi. This successful opening sets a competitive tone for the remaining district-level events scheduled over the coming week.
