Ravi Chawla Cancer Seva Kendra Completes Seven Years of Service

Lucknow: The Ravi Chawla Cancer Seva Kendra marked the completion of seven years of service on Wednesday, continuing its efforts to support cancer patients and their families through various humanitarian initiatives.

Centre coordinator Amit said the organisation was established in memory of his mother, Ravi Chawla, who passed away on March 5, 2019 after battling cancer. Inspired by her struggle with the disease, the family started the service centre to help patients facing similar hardships.

Over the past seven years, the organisation has extended assistance to several cancer patients in need. Recently, a patient suffering from oral cancer from Varanasi received free treatment support through the centre. Financial assistance was also provided for the treatment of a five-year-old girl battling cancer.

The centre has been actively helping children undergoing cancer treatment by arranging and providing free blood for patients whenever required. In addition to medical support, volunteers regularly organise humanitarian services for patients and their families.

Every Sunday, the organisation distributes free food and drinking water to patients and their attendants at the premises of King George’s Medical University and the KGMU Trauma Centre, Lucknow.

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers said the initiative is driven by the spirit of compassion and the desire to ease the suffering of cancer patients. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue providing support, awareness and assistance to those battling the disease in the years to come.
