Bareilly: The District-Level Viksit Bharat Yuva Sansad 2026 was organized at the MBA Auditorium of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) and MY Bharat, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and was conducted under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh. The central theme of the competition was “50 Years of the Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.” Youth participants aged between 18 and 25 from across Bareilly district enthusiastically presented their views on the subject, showcasing awareness and analytical insight into democratic values.
Registrar Harish Chandra graced the occasion as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he stated that such initiatives by NSS and MY Bharat provide young people with a platform to express their views on significant national events and demonstrate their talent at state and national levels. He emphasized that these programmes contribute to personality development and encourage innovation, helping India progress on the global stage. He also urged students to actively participate in NSS-led activities.
The panel of judges included Dr. Jyoti Pandey, Dr. Rakesh Jaiswal, Dr. Rita Singh, Dr. Satish Yadav, and Dr. Neeraj Kumar, who evaluated participants’ speeches based on the prescribed theme. Programme Coordinator Prof. Sompal Singh motivated and encouraged the participants throughout the event.

The event concluded with a collective call to youth to contribute actively towards realizing the vision of a developed India. The smooth conduct of the programme was supported by Basant Lal, Mohit Sharma, Alok Patel, and Shivang.
