Tight Vigil in Hazratganj Ahead of Festivities; Inspector Vikram Singh Leads Foot Patrol

Lucknow: In view of the upcoming festival season, heightened security arrangements were put in place in the Hazratganj police station area, with senior officers conducting an intensive foot patrol to ensure law and order and smooth traffic movement.

Under the supervision of ACP Vikas Jaiswal, Hazratganj Inspector Vikram Singh, and Traffic Inspector Uday Pratap Singh, a joint team of police personnel carried out a comprehensive area inspection. The officers moved through key market stretches and busy intersections, interacting with shopkeepers, pedestrians and commuters.

The foot patrol was aimed at maintaining peace, preventing congestion and enhancing public confidence ahead of the festive rush, when Hazratganj — one of the city’s busiest commercial hubs — witnesses a significant increase in footfall and vehicular movement.

During the patrol, strict action was initiated against motorists who had parked their vehicles haphazardly on roads, causing traffic snarls. Police personnel warned violators and directed them to park only in designated areas. Several vehicles found obstructing traffic flow were either removed or issued challans as part of the enforcement drive.

Inspector Vikram Singh was seen personally monitoring traffic arrangements and issuing instructions to ensure that emergency routes remained clear. He emphasized that illegal parking and roadside encroachments would not be tolerated, particularly during the festive period when smooth traffic management becomes crucial.

ACP Vikas Jaiswal stated that visible policing and continuous patrolling are essential to deter anti-social elements and prevent any untoward incidents. “The objective is to ensure a safe and hassle-free environment for residents and visitors. We are maintaining a strict vigil and coordinating closely with traffic units,” he said.

Traffic Inspector Uday Pratap Singh also reviewed congestion-prone points and directed traffic personnel to remain alert during peak hours. Special attention was given to areas near shopping complexes, food outlets and busy crossings.

Local traders welcomed the proactive policing, saying that such measures help maintain order and encourage shoppers to visit the market without inconvenience. Commuters, too, expressed appreciation for the effort to streamline traffic flow.

Police officials confirmed that similar patrols and monitoring exercises will continue in the coming days. Additional deployment of force, surveillance checks and coordination with market associations are part of the broader security plan for the festival season.

With coordinated efforts by the Hazratganj police and traffic department, authorities aim to ensure that the festive celebrations pass off peacefully, without disruptions or traffic chaos in one of Lucknow’s most prominent commercial districts.
