Sunny Leone Reflects on ‘Quiet Discipline’ During Kennedy Shoot

Mumbai: Sunny Leone has addressed recent conversations surrounding the working atmosphere during the filming of Kennedy, clarifying that the noticeable silence on set reflected discipline and focus rather than tension.

In a recent interaction with IANS, Leone spoke candidly about reports describing the set as unusually still and intense. She explained that the calm environment was a result of professional commitment from the entire crew, not discomfort or strain.

Silence Rooted in Professionalism

Leone said the absence of chatter stemmed from everyone being deeply engaged in their respective responsibilities. According to her, each department remained focused on its task, leaving little room for unnecessary conversation.

She described the atmosphere as one of immersion, where cast and crew were fully invested in the creative process. Rather than feeling pressured, she noted that the quiet helped sharpen concentration and strengthened overall performance.

Emphasising that there was nothing negative about the subdued setting, Leone added that the discipline created the right conditions for both strong acting and technical precision.

Co-Actor Echoes the View

Her co-star Rahul Bhat shared a similar perspective, stating that silence is often common on sets led by filmmakers known for intense storytelling. When a director approaches a project with seriousness, he said, the work environment naturally becomes structured and orderly.

Both actors indicated that such calm surroundings are typical of films requiring emotional depth and careful execution, suggesting that the quiet reflected respect for the director’s creative vision.

Initial Uncertainty About the Role

Leone also revisited her early doubts about joining the project. She admitted that despite attending auditions, trials and workshops, she remained uncertain about being cast until filming formally began.

Highlighting the unpredictability of the film industry, she said she did not feel fully reassured until the first scene was successfully completed and production progressed smoothly. That moment, she added, confirmed her place in the film.

About the Film

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Kennedy stars Leone and Bhat in key roles. The film has generated attention for its intense narrative and distinct visual style — elements often associated with Kashyap’s filmmaking.

The project is scheduled to stream on ZEE5 from February 20, 2026. As anticipation builds around its digital release, Leone’s remarks offer insight into the disciplined and focused environment behind the scenes, highlighting a team committed to craft and storytelling.
