UP RERA Launches 30th Real Estate Agent Training Programme in Greater Noida

Lucknow / Gautam Buddh Nagar: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) on Tuesday launched its 30th Real Estate Agent Training Programme at the NIET campus in Greater Noida, marking another significant step towards making real estate agents more professional, competent and accountable. The four-day training programme is being organised in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur.

A total of 58 participants are enrolled in the programme, all aspiring to work as certified and registered real estate agents. The training programme was inaugurated by UP RERA Chairman Sanjay Bhusreddy. UP RERA Secretary Mahendra Verma and Chief Advisor Abrar Ahmad joined the inaugural session through virtual mode. Rishi Srivastava, Assistant Professor from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, was also present during the opening session.

Chairman’s Address

Addressing the participants, Chairman Sanjay Bhusreddy said that the strength and credibility of the real estate sector rest on three key pillars—promoters, real estate agents and RERA. Effective coordination among these stakeholders, he said, is essential to safeguard consumer interests, enhance transparency and build trust in the sector.

He emphasised that training and certification are crucial steps towards creating a more organised, responsible and rule-compliant real estate ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh. The chairman advised participants to develop a strong understanding of key legislations such as the Apartment Ownership Act, the Contract Act and the Transfer of Property Act, and to ensure that clients are provided only with verified and authentic information related to real estate projects.

Bhusreddy further clarified that an examination will be conducted at the end of the training programme, and certificates will be issued to candidates who successfully qualify. Only certified candidates will be eligible to apply for registration as licensed real estate agents.

“UP RERA’s objective is not merely enforcement of regulations, but the creation of a transparent, accountable and trustworthy real estate environment in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.

Key Training Modules

On the first day of the programme, Recovery Officer Anshuman Singh conducted an in-depth session on the RERA Act, UP RERA Rules and Regulations, explaining the project registration process and the responsibilities of promoters. This was followed by a session by Raghavendra, who elaborated on registration, renewal, cancellation and penal provisions applicable to real estate agents. He also briefed participants on project account guidelines and compliance under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The four-day training programme will conclude with an examination on the final day. Candidates who pass the exam will be granted registration after depositing the prescribed fee.

Mandatory Training for Agents

So far, 29 training batches have been successfully conducted in Lucknow and Greater Noida, with over 2,200 candidates registered. Results up to the 27th batch have been declared, with 1,095 participants having successfully completed the training and passed the examination.

UP RERA’s decision to make training and certification mandatory prior to agent registration is a key policy initiative aimed at strengthening professional standards in the real estate sector and ensuring greater protection for homebuyers.
