Under CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Emerges as a Fast-Growing Hub of Advanced Technology and Research
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is rapidly evolving into one of India’s most dynamic innovation centres, driven by the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The establishment of seven state-backed Centres of Excellence (CoEs) has accelerated the pace of technological advancement and strengthened the state’s startup ecosystem across sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, MedTech, Telecom, Drone Technology and Additive Manufacturing.
These Centres of Excellence are enabling young innovators and product-based startups to access world-class facilities, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a rising national and global innovation hub.
Training Youth to Build India’s Tech Future
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision is clear: a new Uttar Pradesh built on knowledge, technology and entrepreneurship. The seven CoEs are designed to nurture this mission by equipping young talent with skills in frontier technologies.
Each Centre of Excellence offers:
- High-end research labs
- Co-working and product development spaces
- Advanced testing infrastructure
- Access to expert mentorship
- Industry collaboration and market exposure
The government believes that youth trained in cutting-edge fields will establish startups capable of generating large-scale employment and bringing global recognition to UP’s innovation landscape.
A Strong Financial and Policy Ecosystem
The state government has created a robust financial framework to support these Centres of Excellence. Capital grants, operational funding and long-term assistance are being provided for the initial five years to ensure a strong foundation.
After this period, the CoEs are expected to move towards self-sustainability through partnerships, innovation-led revenue and industry collaborations.

According to IT and Startup Consultant Sunil Gupta, the impact of these CoEs extends beyond the tech sector:
“Solutions emerging from these centres are addressing challenges in healthcare, agriculture, education and sanitation as well. They are driving regional development by offering global-level facilities to youth in smaller cities.”
