Preparations Begin for January–February 2026 Sporting Extravaganza
Lucknow — The city is gearing up for a major sporting celebration as Kreedabharati Lucknow Mahanagar announced that the Atal Run and Lucknow Sports Festival will take place on January 31 and February 1, 2026, at the iconic KD Singh Babu Stadium.
The preparations gained momentum on Sunday during a detailed meeting held at St. Joseph School, Sitapur Road branch, in the presence of Kreedabharati Uttar Pradesh President and MLC Engineer Avnish Kumar Singh.
The meeting witnessed the participation of senior office-bearers, including Anil Agarwal (President, Kreedabharati Lucknow Mahanagar), Anuj Kumar Singh (Prant Sahamantri), Tushar Singh (Vice President), B.R. Varun (Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Athletic Association), Sanjeev Kumar Singh (Deputy Sports Officer, Sitapur), Mudit Agarwal (Treasurer), Manish Singh (Program Convenor), Aryan Verma (Youth Head), along with Nivedita Tripathi, Rohit Singh, Amar Singh, Arun, Tinku Kumar, Srishti Lamba, Kanhaiya Lal, and others.
A Grand Celebration of Sports
Addressing the committee, MLC Avnish Kumar Singh encouraged all members to organise the festival on a large scale, ensuring maximum participation from youth and sports enthusiasts across the region. Kreedabharati Lucknow President Anil Agarwal and his team pledged full commitment to make the two-day event a memorable sporting affair.
Registrations to Begin December 17
Program convenor Manish Singh announced that registrations for the Atal Run and Lucknow Sports Festival will open on December 17, 2025, and continue until January 15, 2026. Interested participants can register through the official website of Kreedabharati Uttar Pradesh:

Competitions will be organised in four categories — Under-19 (Boys & Girls) and Open Category (Men & Women) for participants aged 19 and above.
The event will feature five major team sports:
- Kabaddi
- Kho-Kho
- Volleyball
- Football
- Tug of War
In addition, a robust lineup of Track and Field events will be hosted, including:
100m, 200m, 400m, 4×100m relay, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw.
Attractive Awards for Winners
Kreedabharati Lucknow President Anil Agarwal shared that winners will be honoured with medals, trophies, certificates, and cash prizes, adding excitement and motivation for participants from across the state.
