Lucknow | A review meeting on the progress of Lucknow Nagar Nigam projects was held under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant at the Smart City Office auditorium. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioners Lalit Kumar and Pankaj Srivastava, along with officials from various concerned departments.
During the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed the status of ongoing routine works under the Nagar Nigam and directed officials to ensure that all under-construction projects are completed within the stipulated time frame and with full adherence to quality standards. He reviewed progress on road repairs, drainage, sewerage, green area development, traffic improvement, and other infrastructure-related works, instructing the Chief Engineer to expedite construction and meet deadlines.
While reviewing the CM Grid Scheme Phase 1, officials informed that work on seven roads is currently in progress, with around 40 percent completion achieved. The Commissioner directed that these works be completed by January 2026.
He also conducted a detailed review of the Chief Minister’s Global Nagarodaya Yojana, directing that ongoing projects such as Khargapur, Kuria Ghat, Sahitya Park, and the Working Women’s Hostel be executed with strict adherence to quality and standards.
The Commissioner emphasized inter-departmental coordination and instructed that departments submit regular progress reports. He directed that civil work tenders be processed without delay. The Jal Nigam was instructed to ensure regular maintenance of pumping stations and chamber cleaning to prevent waterlogging issues.

During the review of Gomti River cleaning operations, officials informed that a 22-kilometre stretch of the river falls under Nagar Nigam’s jurisdiction. Shri Pant directed that the cleaning of the Gomti River be carried out on priority using boats and other mechanical equipment, with GPS tracking of vehicles and boats to monitor waste collection in real time.
He also stressed on maintaining city cleanliness, directing that main roads, door-to-door garbage collection, and road sweeping be carried out as a top priority. Road sweeping, he said, must be conducted daily between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., with no laxity tolerated. Officials were instructed to ensure continuous field inspections and enhance manpower and machinery for efficient sanitation management.
The Commissioner further directed that in the first phase, each zone identify one ward to assess the status of door-to-door garbage collection, noting areas where the service is lacking. Based on this assessment, an action list should be prepared to increase the percentage of door-to-door waste collection. A similar ward-wise survey will be conducted in the second phase to achieve 100 percent door-to-door waste collection across all zones of the Nagar Nigam.
