Talks highlight commitment to strengthening China–Russia partnership across key sectors
Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday, reaffirming both nations’ resolve to enhance their comprehensive strategic partnership and deepen cooperation across economic, political, and technological fronts.
According to Russia’s TASS news agency, Prime Minister Mishustin is on a two-day official visit to China, accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova. The Chinese side was represented by Foreign Minister Wang Yi and other senior officials.
China’s official news outlet Xinhua reported that Mishustin also met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday in Hangzhou, where both sides co-chaired the 30th Regular Meeting of Russian and Chinese Heads of Government. The meeting emphasized that the strategic guidance of their national leaders continues to provide political assurance for the robust cooperation between Beijing and Moscow.
Premier Li underscored China’s readiness to further align its development strategies with Russia’s, expand investment and trade collaboration, and jointly advance modernization. “China is ready to consolidate development integration with Russia, broaden cooperation across all sectors, and continue building Chinese-Russian relations of comprehensive partnership in the new era,” Li said.

Both sides also discussed enhancing bilateral investment platforms, strengthening energy partnerships, and boosting trade exchanges to counter global economic uncertainties.
The meeting follows a period of active diplomacy in the region, underscoring China and Russia’s shared interest in maintaining stability and promoting a multipolar global order. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow’s focus remains on constructive cooperation and peace efforts, particularly regarding ongoing challenges in Ukraine.
The talks in Beijing mark another step in the evolving China–Russia alliance, reflecting both nations’ commitment to strategic cooperation amid shifting global dynamics.
