Farmers in Crisis, Youth Struggling with Unemployment – Samajwadi Party

Gorakhpur/Lucknow– The monthly meeting of the Gorakhpur unit of the Samajwadi Party (SP) was held at the Betiahata SP office, chaired by City President Shabbir Quraishi and conducted by City General Secretaries Brij Nath Maurya and Zafar Amin Dakku.

The meeting began with a grand welcome ceremony for former district and city presidents of the SP, along with distribution of sweets. Among the distinguished attendees were former Gorakhpur District Presidents Jagdish Yadav and Prahlad Yadav, and former City Presidents Zafar Amin Dakku and Inamullah Advocate, who expressed their continued support for the party, highlighting SP’s role as a voice of the people and its foundation on socialist principles laid by Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Gorakhpur Lok Sabha SP candidate Kajal Nishad addressed the gathering, emphasizing the crucial role of party workers as the backbone of the organization. She stated, “Socialism is essential today as minorities, students, and farmers are struggling, youth are facing unemployment, the poor are denied justice, and conspiracies to divide society continue.”

The meeting also welcomed Vidya Sagar (alias Chhote Bhai) and Lalji Bharti, former BSP candidate and coordinator respectively, who recently joined the SP, pledging to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

City President Shabbir Quraishi expressed gratitude towards the former leaders, saying, “The Samajwadi Party represents the voice of every oppressed and marginalized person. Inspired by our revered leaders and countless dedicated workers, we will continue the fight against injustice, inequality, and communal conspiracies.”

Other notable speakers included Devendra Nishad, Rahul Yadav (Youth Sabha District President), Avinash Tiwari, Anoop Yadav Ishwar, Shams Alam Kha, Firdos Alam, Sarita Sonkar (City Women’s SP President), Ramkripal Yadav, Rambhavan Sharma, Sanjay Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Anil Yadav, and Vinod Vishwakarma.

The event saw the active participation of hundreds of SP leaders and workers, reflecting the party’s unity and determination to address the challenges faced by farmers, youth, and marginalized communities in the region.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold socialist values, support the struggling sections of society, and strengthen the party’s presence in Gorakhpur.
