State-of-the-Art 3D Digital Mammography Unit Launched at Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute

Lucknow: In a significant advancement for women’s healthcare, Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute  in Lucknow inaugurated a state-of-the-art 3D digital mammography unit at its Radiodiagnosis Department. The unit, Hologic Selenia Dimensions, was unveiled by the institute’s Director, Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt.

Addressing the launch, Prof. Bhatt stated, “Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in India. This advanced machine can detect breast cancer at its earliest stages, making a critical contribution to women’s health.” He added that the technology will enhance diagnostic and treatment processes for breast cancer across the state.

Department Head Dr. Pramod Gupta noted that the unit, installed at a cost of approximately Rs 5.15 crore, uses digital breast tomosynthesis (3D technology) and represents a major step forward in cancer prevention and treatment for women.

The inauguration was attended by Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Vijyedra, Medical Superintendent Dr. Varun Vijay, Registrar Dr. Ayush Lohia, residents, technicians, and paramedical staff.
