Ayodhya: The sacred city of Ayodhya witnessed the grand opening of the seventh edition of its Filmi Ramleela at Ramkatha Park, inaugurated with cultural magnificence and modern technology. Supported by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the 120-feet stage production began on September 22 with the enactment of the Narad Moh episode, captivating the audience from the very first day. The Ramleela will continue until October 2.

One of the major highlights this year is the towering 240-feet effigy of Ravana that will be burnt on Vijayadashami, along with 190-feet effigies of Meghnad and Kumbhkaran. Over 60 artisans from four states are working on these colossal structures, blending traditional craftsmanship with innovative design.

The event features prominent film and cultural personalities. Actor Bindu Dara Singh portrays Lord Shiva, MP Manoj Tiwari plays Bali, Puneet Issar appears as Parshuram, and Ravi Kishan enacts Kevat. The role of Sita is essayed by Miss Universe India 2025, Manika Vishwakarma, while actor Rahul Bhuchar plays Lord Ram, and veteran actor Vijay Saxena takes on the role of Ravana.

With advanced 3D technology, the staging offers audiences a lifelike experience of the Ramayana, enhancing both devotional fervor and visual appeal. Organizers have emphasized that this year’s Ravana Dahan will be historic in scale.

Founder-President Subhash Malik highlighted that last year, more than 47 crore people watched the Ramleela through live broadcast and online platforms. The show is telecast daily from 7 PM to 10 PM, drawing thousands of visitors to the venue and boosting Ayodhya’s cultural tourism.
