Ghaziabad- In a major breakthrough, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) gunned down two shooters involved in the sensational firing outside Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s house in Bareilly earlier this month.
On September 12, heavy gunfire outside Patani’s residence had triggered panic, drawing immediate attention from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who ordered strict action against those responsible.
Investigations later identified the shooters as Ravindra and Arun, sons of Rajendra from Sonipat, Haryana. Both were active members of the notorious Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, which has been involved in several high-profile crimes across states.
The encounter took place in the Tronica City police station area of Ghaziabad, where STF, in coordination with Delhi’s Crime Intelligence Unit (CIU), intercepted the criminals. In the ensuing gunfight, both assailants were killed.
Officials confirmed the recovery of sophisticated weapons, including a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and a large cache of cartridges, from the site.
The elimination of the shooters is seen as a significant blow to the Goldy Brar network, which has been trying to expand its operations in Uttar Pradesh. Police sources said further investigations are underway to track the wider gang links.
