New Delhi | Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam of Mauritius arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for an official visit to India, where he was warmly welcomed at the airport by Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence.
Before reaching Delhi, the Mauritian leader offered prayers at the Tirumala Temple in Tirupati. Sharing the update on X, Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, posted: “PM Navin Ramgoolam of Mauritius arrives in New Delhi. Sanjay Seth, MoS for Defence, received him at the airport. Earlier, he visited Tirumala Temple and offered prayers.”
On Monday, Prime Minister Ramgoolam took part in an event at Bramarishi Ashram in Tirupati, where he was received by Siddhguru Sideswar Bramedswi Gurudev Swami, a revered spiritual leader. Praising Ramgoolam’s humility and leadership, the Swami announced a $1 billion investment initiative from Bramarishi Ashram for education, healthcare, and development projects in Mauritius.
“This collaboration will strengthen our bonds. Free medical care, education, and national growth are at the heart of this mission,” the Swami said.
Ramgoolam expressed gratitude, highlighting the spiritual significance of his visit and his long-standing ties with India.

“I had pledged to visit India for blessings and prayers, and today I feel honoured to be here. My connection with Swami and this ashram adds deeper meaning to this journey,” the Mauritian Prime Minister remarked.
The eight-day bilateral visit, which runs from September 9 to 16, is expected to focus on strengthening India–Mauritius ties, with discussions on cultural cooperation, education, trade, and strategic development partnerships.
Ramgoolam is accompanied by his spouse and senior officials, underscoring the importance Mauritius places on fostering its relationship with India.
