Lucknow: The Ekana Stadium in Lucknow came alive on Sunday evening with the glittering opening ceremony of the UP T20 League, blending cricket and entertainment in a spectacular show. The star-studded event saw electrifying performances by Bollywood diva Tamannaah Bhatia, fitness icon Disha Patani, and celebrated playback singer Sunidhi Chauhan, leaving the audience mesmerized.
The festivities began at 6:00 PM with dazzling lights, a laser show, and grand fireworks, setting a festive tone for the evening. The UP T20 League, organized under the leadership of UPCA President Dr. D.S. Chauhan, aims to take cricket in Uttar Pradesh to new heights while offering a powerful platform for young talent.
Tamannaah Bhatia enthralled fans with her energetic dance medley on Bollywood and South Indian hits, while Disha Patani’s high-octane performance set the stage ablaze. Sunidhi Chauhan captivated the crowd with her soulful yet electrifying songs, filling the stadium with unstoppable energy.

The tournament kicked off with the first match between Meerut Mavericks and Kanpur Superstars at 7:30 PM. This season will feature six teams – Meerut Mavericks, Kanpur Superstars, Kashi Rudras, Gorakhpur Lions, Noida Super Kings, and Lucknow Falcons – competing in 34 thrilling matches from August 17 to September 6, 2025.
The presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath further underlined the significance of the event. Fans across social media praised the opening night, hailing it as the “most spectacular ceremony ever” in the league’s history. Tickets were available via BookMyShow, while the event was broadcast live on SonyLIV and Sony Sports 3.
