Lucknow: In a significant disciplinary move, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Monday expelled three sitting MLAs—Abhay Singh (Gosainganj), Rakesh Pratap Singh (Gauriganj), and Manoj Kumar Pandey (Unchahar)—citing serious allegations of anti-party activities.
The party’s official statement accused the three legislators of supporting communal and divisive politics, while endorsing policies deemed anti-farmer, anti-women, anti-youth, and anti-trader. The statement, issued through the SP’s official social media handle, read:
“In contradiction to the Samajwadi Party’s inclusive and progressive ideology, these individuals have promoted communal, divisive negativity and backed forces against farmers, women, youth, entrepreneurs, employees, and the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) community. In public interest, the party expels them with immediate effect.”
The party further clarified that the expelled MLAs had been given ample time to reform under a “grace period,” but failed to do so. SP emphasized that while some others are still under observation due to comparatively better conduct, the leadership will not tolerate any actions that oppose the core values of the party.
The party reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards ideological deviation, stressing that the preservation of its foundational principles and public trust remains its highest priority.
The move signals the Samajwadi Party’s intent to maintain ideological discipline and sends a stern warning to other members considering actions contrary to the party’s mission and public image.
