Lucknow: In a major crackdown on illegal land development, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) launched a decisive demolition drive in Gosainganj. Under the direction of LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar, enforcement teams from Zones 1 and 2 razed more than 100 bighas of unauthorized land plotting, including the illegal colony Gangotri City.
Massive Action in Gosainganj
Continuing its anti-encroachment campaign across the city, Enforcement Zone-2, led by Zonal Officer Prabhakar Singh, targeted an illegal colony named Gangotri City, being developed without any approved layout plan. The colony, reportedly spread over approximately 100 bighas, was being constructed illegally in Mohari Kala village near Jail Road, by Ashish Srivastava and associates.
Upon orders issued by the competent court for demolition, LDA’s enforcement team, with the support of LDA police and local law enforcement, razed the unauthorized structures. Key infrastructure such as internal roads, drainage systems, boundary walls, entry gates, site offices, and booking centers were all dismantled during the drive.
Two More Illegal Colonies Demolished
Simultaneously, Enforcement Zone-1, under Zonal Officer Vipin Kumar Shivhare, took down two more illegal plottings being developed in Bakkas village:

Developer Rajesh Yadav and others were found creating plots on approximately 3 bighas of land.

Subedar Singh and associates were illegally developing plots on about 7 bighas of land.
Both developments were being carried out without any layout approval from LDA, and were demolished as part of Thursday’s action.
Ongoing Anti-Encroachment Drive
LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar reiterated the authority’s commitment to strict action against illegal construction and unapproved colonization. The latest demolition drive in Gosainganj is part of LDA’s wider campaign to curb unauthorized developments and protect the city’s regulated urban planning framework.
