Lucknow: Seeded players displayed dominant performances in the opening round of the boys’ singles at the Adarsh Bhasin Memorial Under-18 AITA Championship Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament, with second seed Abhishek Singh from Bihar and third seed Rohin Raj from Uttar Pradesh securing comfortable victories to advance to the Round of 16.
Organized under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association and hosted by SDS (Sports Development Society) Tennis Academy, the tournament is being held at the tennis courts of Vijayanta Khand Stadium, Gomtinagar.
The tournament was inaugurated by chief guest Suhas L.Y. (IAS, Secretary, Sports Department, Uttar Pradesh), in the presence of special guests Mr. Piyush Verma (IFS, Special Secretary, Industrial Development) and Puneet Agarwal (Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association). Pawan Sagar from SDS Tennis Academy welcomed the dignitaries during the opening ceremony.
In the first round of boys’ singles, second seed Abhishek Singh defeated Rohan Saxena 6-1, 6-1 with powerful shot-making, while third seed Rohin Raj of Uttar Pradesh cruised past Mohammad Arij 6-1, 6-1.

Seventh seed Anurudh Kumar (UP) overcame Anurag Vaidyanathan (Maharashtra) in a rollercoaster match 6-0, 0-6, 6-1.
In a notable upset, Delhi’s Hans Anand defeated eighth seed Rishant Jaiswal (UP) 6-4, 7-5.
