Mumbai: Noted Bollywood filmmaker Anil Sharma has expressed that his latest film, Vanvaas, touches upon family values and the responsibilities of the younger generation. Sharma is currently in the spotlight for Vanvaas, which he has directed and was recently released. The film features veteran actor Nana Patekar alongside Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in pivotal roles. The television premiere of Vanvaas is set to take place today on Zee Cinema.
While discussing Vanvaas, Anil Sharma highlighted that the film addresses the issue of elderly parents being abandoned, a concern that resonates deeply with real-life incidents. He pointed out that such cases have been reported even during significant events like the Mahakumbh, which he finds distressing. Sharma remarked, “It is disheartening to see people commit such acts during an event as grand as the Mahakumbh. It is said that if there is a living God in this world, it is our parents. Through Vanvaas, we have attempted to emphasize that when parents grow old, they should not be treated as outcasts in their own homes. Instead, they deserve care and respect. This is of utmost importance.”
Sharma further elaborated that Vanvaas is deeply rooted in family values and highlights the duties of the younger generation toward their parents. He asserted, “It is a parent’s duty to raise their children, and in turn, it is the children’s responsibility to take care of their parents. At the very least, we should embrace our parents with love. This is the least we can do, as there is nothing more valuable than our parents. We must acknowledge their worth because one day, we too will become parents and realize the struggles they endured for us.”
Through Vanvaas, Anil Sharma has brought attention to a critical social issue, urging society to uphold the significance of familial bonds and to ensure that elderly parents are cared for with the love and dignity they deserve.
