22-Year-Old Ice Cream Parlor Owner Murdered in Lucknow; Maternal Uncle Arrested for Killing Him After Calling Him to Party

Lucknow: In a shocking revelation, police have solved the murder case of 22-year-old Sachin Singh, an ice cream parlor operator from the Itaunja area of Lucknow. Investigators have arrested a man identified as his maternal uncle, who allegedly killed him after calling him for a party over suspicions of inappropriate intentions toward his sister.

According to police officials, the accused has been identified as 26-year-old Brijendra Pratap Singh alias Brijesh Singh, a resident of Akbarpur in Itaunja. He was arrested near Mahona canal bridge following a targeted operation.

The case came to light after Sachin’s father, Ram Shankar Singh, lodged a complaint stating that his son was taken from home by someone he knew and later found dead. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered and a joint team comprising SWAT, surveillance units, and Itaunja police was formed under the supervision of senior officers.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime and cited suspicion as the motive. Police said the accused believed that Sachin, who was his relative, had inappropriate intentions toward his sister. Despite repeated warnings, he felt the behaviour did not change, which allegedly led him to plan the murder.

According to investigators, the accused lured Sachin to Akbarpur village on the pretext of a party on Tuesday. He reportedly served him alcohol, and when Sachin became intoxicated, he strangled him using a plastic strap near a village borewell.

Police further revealed that after the murder, the accused dumped the body in a nearby banana plantation in an attempt to destroy evidence and mislead the investigation.

The murder weapon—a plastic strap used in the crime—was recovered based on the accused’s disclosure and has been seized as evidence.

Officials said technical surveillance, call detail records, and local intelligence played a crucial role in cracking the case. The police team tracked movements and communication patterns that eventually led to the accused.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Krishna Gopal Choudhary confirmed the arrest and said further legal proceedings are underway.

The incident has shocked residents of Itaunja, highlighting concerns over rising interpersonal crimes driven by personal suspicions and family disputes.
