Young Field Hockey stars take to the turf

Lucknow: The 16th Padma Shri Jamnalal Sharma Sub Junior (Under-14) Hockey Competition commenced at KD Singh Babu Stadium. On day 2,  there were matches between four teams. The first match was played between SKHA Athgawan and Bhadohi. The second match was played between BHU Varanasi and Rampur. Similarly, there was a match between Jhansi vs Meerut and between Prayagraj and Pratapgarh. The event was inaugurated by entrepreneur SK Garg, the chief guest, at Moti Mahal Ground under the organization of the KD Singh Babu Memorial Society.

In the opening day, the opening match saw BHU defeating Kaushambi 4-0, with Aryan Rajbhar scoring twice and teammates Pradeep and Rajveer adding one goal each. In the second match, Jhansi dominated Barabanki with an impressive 6-0 victory. Manav Kushwaha of Jhansi scored a hat-trick, while Anand contributed two goals and Raj scored one.

The day continued with Bhadohi overcoming Kanpur 2-0, as Prince and Vivek each scored a goal. In the final match, Prayagraj clinched a 2-0 win over Azamgarh, thanks to goals by Satyam and Aniket.

These significant wins, particularly by BHU and Jhansi, marked a strong start to the tournament, showcasing exceptional talent among the young players.
