New Delhi: India has officially expressed its interest in hosting the 2036 Olympic and Paralympic Games by submitting a Letter of Intent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). This move aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to bring the prestigious event to India, with the government believing it will foster economic growth, social progress, and empower youth.
Hosting the Games would boost India’s global profile, showcasing its culture and diversity, while driving tourism and infrastructure development. The Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) proactive step underscores the country’s commitment to inspiring future athletes and strengthening its sports culture. The 2036 Games will follow the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the 2032 Games in Brisbane, Australia. The IOC President, Thomas Bach, confirmed that many cities have already expressed interest in hosting the 2036 Games.
