Mathura: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented a major package of development projects and welfare benefits to residents of Braj a day before Janmashtami, inaugurating the newly developed Swami Haridas Auditorium and distributing assistance to thousands of beneficiaries under various government schemes.
The Chief Minister inaugurated development projects worth ₹1,051 crore covering 229 works during an event in Mathura. He also honoured saints and interacted with beneficiaries, women from self-help groups and representatives of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad.
The programme combined infrastructure development with welfare initiatives, with the Chief Minister handing over cheques, approval letters, certificates and keys to beneficiaries from different sections of society.
Swami Haridas Auditorium inaugurated
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Swami Haridas Auditorium. A short film showcasing the construction and development of the facility was screened during the programme.
Yogi Adityanath also met young students involved in chanting Vedic mantras before honouring saints with garlands, fruits and traditional angavastram. He was joined by Mathura MP and actor Hema Malini for photographs at the newly inaugurated auditorium.
The cultural programme featured 51 artists, who presented different aspects and forms of Lord Krishna through dance traditions from various parts of India. The performance was organised by Shivoham Production and choreographed by BHU Varanasi Kathak dancer Shivani Mishra.
Students of Hanuman Prasad Dhanuka Vidyalaya, Vrindavan, also presented the national song during the programme.
7,240 beneficiaries receive government assistance
The Chief Minister distributed assistance among 7,240 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 (Urban) and Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (Rural), among other welfare programmes.
Several beneficiaries received assistance directly from the Chief Minister. These included beneficiaries of housing, entrepreneurship, fisheries, dairy, agriculture, employment and social welfare schemes.
Among those recognised were Manoj Kumar, who received a ₹5 lakh cheque under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, and Archana, who received a tailoring tool kit under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.
Toran Singh received an approval letter for ₹3.20 lakh under the Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, while Shailendra Singh received an approval certificate for ₹11.80 lakh under the Mini Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana.
Pushpendra Singh received an ₹80,000 approval certificate under the Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau-Samvardhan Yojana.
Appointment letters and financial assistance distributed
Doctors Princess Chakraborty and Rajat Dwivedi were handed appointment letters during the event. Murari Lal received a ₹65,000 cheque under the Kanya Vivah Sahayata Yojana.
In the dairy and food-processing sector, Rajveer Singh received ₹8.75 lakh for dairy processing, while Saurabh Kumar Verma received more than ₹4.12 lakh for spice processing.
Ajay was presented a certificate of appreciation for achievements associated with a digital library and selection to the post of sub-inspector in the police department. Payal was honoured for work associated with Ladli Van and large-scale plantation activities.
Housing beneficiaries Shyamvati and Mamta received approval letters and keys under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Sukhdei received a ₹5 lakh cheque under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Durghatna Kalyan Yojana.
CM interacts with women and beneficiaries
Yogi Adityanath also inspected stalls set up by various government departments at the venue. He sought information about the progress of government schemes and interacted with people involved in producing handicrafts, garments and other products.
Women associated with self-help groups explained their work and products to the Chief Minister.
The programme also included an interaction with young children. The Chief Minister held infants in his arms, applied sandalwood paste on them and presented them with toys and dolls. He performed the annaprashan ceremony for children and fed them kheer. Women from the community were also presented gifts and baskets of fruits.
The pre-Janmashtami event thus brought together development works, welfare assistance, cultural programmes and religious traditions, with the state government highlighting its efforts to accelerate development and public welfare in Mathura and the wider Braj region.
