Tourists make a beeline for Tibet

New Delhi: According to information received from the Culture and Tourism Department of Tibet Autonomous Region, a total of more than 32 lakh domestic and foreign tourists visited Tibet in January-February this year. Apart from this, in the first two months of the year, more than 7 lakh 30 thousand people were welcomed in Tibet’s rural tourism and tourism income was more than 11 crore 50 lakh yuan.

Culture and tourism industry has become one of the main industries of Tibet.

On the other hand, new business models are also developing rapidly in the world of culture and tourism. Recently the 12th performance season of the historical drama Rajkumari Vanchang arrived.

A mix of virtual and reality has been used in this drama, which is thrilling the audience. To increase tourism in the off-season, Tibet also introduced a policy of deep discount in air tickets, hotel fees and sightseeing tickets, which yielded good results.

For example, till March 15 this year, more than 3 lakh 80 thousand tourists visited the world famous Potala Palace, which is 25.4 percent more than the same period last year.
