New Delhi: West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine is in excellent form in the current IPL 2024. He has ruled out any possibility of playing in the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America. The KKR all-rounder last played for the West Indies in August 2019 and announced his retirement in November last year.
Sunil Narine dismissed the speculations
However, his excellent performance in the current season of IPL had increased the speculation of his return to the national team. But Sunil Narine issued a statement ruling out all possibilities of playing for the West Indies again. Sunil Narine said, “I am happy and grateful that because of my form people want me to come out of retirement and play the upcoming T20 World Cup. But now those doors are closed.
“I will be supporting the boys playing for West Indies who have worked hard over the last few months to earn a place in the national team. These players deserve to win another T20 World Cup title and I wish them all the best.”
Scored a century against Rajasthan
The 35-year-old currently tops the Most Valuable Player (MVP) standings of the tournament. His notable performances include a brilliant unbeaten 109 off 56 balls against Rajasthan Royals last week, his maiden T20 century. On the bowling front, Sunil Narine has taken 9 wickets in seven matches.
