Lucknow | A comprehensive awareness campaign aimed at ensuring workers’ welfare, industrial harmony, and effective implementation of labour welfare schemes is currently underway across Uttar Pradesh. The initiative is being conducted as part of the nationwide campaign marking 12 years of the Central Government under the theme “12 Years of Trust, Development and Welfare for the People.”
Workshops on Labour Laws and Women’s Safety in Industrial Areas
On Wednesday, under the guidance of Additional Labour Commissioner, Lucknow, Ms. Kalpana Srivastava, a series of programmes were organized in the Aishbagh industrial area. These included a worker–employer dialogue session, a workshop on the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, and an awareness programme focused on women’s safety at the workplace.
Labour enforcement officials highlighted the importance of maintaining industrial peace and harmony, strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms, and promoting social dialogue and collective bargaining between workers and employers.
Special emphasis was also placed on the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, ensuring safe and secure working environments for women employees.
Inspection of Labour Facilitation Centre
The Additional Labour Commissioner also inspected the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Suvidha Kendra (Labour Adda) located in Mohibullapur, Sitapur Road. During the visit, workers gathered at the centre were informed about labour registration procedures and various welfare schemes implemented by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.

Officials encouraged workers to register themselves to avail benefits under government welfare schemes designed for their social and economic upliftment.
Special Registration Drives for Gig Workers
In a separate initiative, the Labour Enforcement Department organized a special registration camp at Subhash Marg, Lucknow, focusing on gig and platform workers associated with companies such as Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, and Zepto.
Workers were briefed about state and central government welfare schemes and encouraged to complete their registrations to ensure access to social security benefits.
Awareness Campaign in Bakshi Ka Talab Block
Another special camp was conducted in the Bakshi Ka Talab block area to promote awareness about welfare schemes of the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Eligible workers were guided through the registration and application process to ensure they receive timely benefits.
Objective of the Initiative
Officials stated that such awareness programmes will continue across the state to ensure maximum outreach of welfare schemes, strengthen industrial relations, and promote a safe, transparent, and worker-friendly ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh.
