Gonda: Ahead of the upcoming Kajri Teej festival, senior district officials conducted an on-site inspection of major Shiva temples in Gonda on Wednesday to review preparations and ensure that the festival is organised safely and smoothly.
The inspection was carried out on the directions of District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan. A team comprising Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad, Chief Revenue Officer Rinki Jaiswal, Additional Superintendent of Police Radheshyam Rai, City Magistrate Pankaj Verma, Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jitendra Gautam, District Disaster Management Expert Rajesh Srivastava and officials from various departments visited Dukh Haran Nath Temple in Gonda city and Prithvinath Temple in Khargupur.
The officials inspected the temple premises and surrounding areas and reviewed arrangements already underway. Particular attention was given to anticipated crowds, security, traffic movement, cleanliness, lighting, parking and other facilities required for devotees.
District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan said the safety, convenience and smooth movement of devotees would remain the administration’s top priority during Kajri Teej. Given the possibility of a large number of devotees visiting the temples, she directed all departments to complete preparations well in advance to prevent inconvenience.
The District Magistrate specifically directed officials to ensure enhanced cleanliness along the routes from Saryu Ghat in Colonelganj to Prithvinath Temple in Khargupur and from Saryu Ghat to Dukh Haran Nath Temple in Gonda city.
She also instructed officials to make arrangements for barricading wherever required, adequate lighting, traffic management and route diversions in advance. Sufficient numbers of officers and personnel are to be deployed at strategic locations for continuous monitoring of arrangements.
Directions were also issued to establish medical camps at various locations, identify and properly organise adequate parking areas, and install cameras at important points. Adequate police deployment, effective crowd-control measures and a comprehensive traffic management plan were also emphasised.
The District Magistrate instructed all concerned departments to complete their respective preparations before the stipulated deadline. She made it clear that any negligence or laxity in arrangements during an important festival such as Kajri Teej would not be tolerated.
The administration aims to ensure that devotees are provided with safe, convenient and adequate facilities so that the festival can be celebrated peacefully and in an orderly manner.
