Seminar on ‘Kavach’ – Indigenous Safety System for Indian Railways

Lucknow: The Institution of Engineers organized a seminar on ‘Kavach’ – a fully indigenous safety system for Indian Railways at its State Centre, River Bank Colony, Lucknow. The seminar focused on the development of Kavach and financial planning for technocrats. Former Chairman Dr. Bharat Raj Singh, Director General, School of Management Sciences, Lucknow welcomed the newly elected National President, Er. V.B. Singh, with a bouquet and expressed his gratitude and also Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other renowned engineers.

The Chief Guest, Mashahur Alam, retired Principal Chief Signal and Telecom Engineer, South Central Railway, highlighted that the safety system ‘Kavach’ has been developed indigenously. It has already been operationalized on 1456 route kilometers and is being installed on the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes (approximately 3000 route kilometers). The target is to deploy it on 44000 route kilometers over the next 5 years.

Sharad Gupta, Business Partner, Motilal Oswal Financial Services, shared valuable insights on financial planning and awareness. He discussed market trends and the importance of investing in equities in today’s time. Various services such as portfolio restructuring, designing, and management were shared with the engineers.

The program coordinator, SK Verma, FIE, introduced the chief speaker and distinguished guests. National President V.B. Singh, senior engineers, and former honorary secretaries, Dr. Jaswant Singh, A.S. Kapoor, and Vijay Pratap Singh, honorary secretary, participated in the seminar, along with engineers from various fields.
