Bareilly: In a landmark achievement for Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, 45 faculty members were promoted simultaneously, marking the first such instance in the institution’s history. The promotion certificates were presented by Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh during a grand ceremony held at the university’s Vice-Chancellor’s Office auditorium.
Addressing the newly promoted faculty members, Prof. Singh congratulated them on their achievement and reminded them that promotion brings greater responsibility. He urged the teachers to continue working with dedication, integrity and excellence while striving to elevate their teaching, research and academic contributions to international standards.
Highlighting the three core responsibilities of every academic—teaching, research and extension activities—the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the need for faculty members to focus equally on all three areas. He encouraged them to publish more research papers, actively participate in seminars and workshops, and enhance their presence on international academic platforms to improve the global impact and citation of their work.
Prof. Singh also called upon the faculty to engage more closely with society and undertake research that addresses real-world challenges and contributes to social development. Stressing the importance of a global outlook in higher education, he urged the teachers to become “global citizens” themselves and inspire their students to develop the knowledge, skills and perspective needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.
The historic ceremony was attended by Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh, Academic Dean Prof. S. K. Pandey, Prof. Alok Srivastava, senior faculty members and university officials.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Registrar Mahendra Kumar Singh and Prof. Manoj Kumar Singh.
