Lucknow: The Northeastern Railway Vigilance Organisation is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to November 1, 2026, under the theme “Probity for Prosperity”, following the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission. The week-long campaign is being organised at the Northeastern Railway headquarters in Gorakhpur and across all its divisions.
As part of the initiative, Lucknow Divisional Railway Manager Gaurav Agrawal administered the vigilance integrity pledge to railway officers and employees at the Divisional Railway Manager’s office at 11 am on Monday. Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Bhuvanesh Singh, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) Neetu and other departmental officials participated in the programme.
The pledge highlighted corruption as a major obstacle to the country’s economic, political and social progress, emphasising the need for collective action by the government, citizens and the private sector. Employees pledged to uphold honesty and the rule of law, neither give nor accept bribes, maintain transparency in their work, act in the public interest and report corruption to the appropriate authorities.
Several awareness activities will be organised across stations and offices in the Lucknow division during the week. These will include debates, drawing and quiz competitions, walkathons and vigilance seminars. Senior railway officials will deliver lectures on vigilance-related issues, while dedicated booths will be set up to receive complaints and suggestions.

To raise awareness among passengers and railway employees, vigilance messages are being broadcast through public announcement systems at stations across the division. Digital display boards are also being used to communicate messages on preventing corruption and promoting transparency.
Railway authorities have urged passengers and employees to remain vigilant and report corruption-related complaints through railway helpline number 139.
The campaign aims to strengthen integrity, accountability and transparency in railway operations while encouraging employees and citizens to contribute to the fight against corruption.
