Prayagraj: The Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts, Anugrah Narayan Das (IDAS), along with Joint Controller General of Defence Accounts, Mouli Sengupta (IDAS), conducted an inspection of the Office of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), Prayagraj. During the visit, Principal Controller Sandeep Sarkar provided insights into the current status of defence pensions and discussed the progress of the SPARSH system implementation in detail.
Das expressed satisfaction with the issuance of PPOs (Pension Payment Orders) and the timely disbursement of pensions through the SPARSH system. He emphasized the need to streamline operations further and ensure prompt resolution of pensioners’ grievances.
On this occasion, Kamlesh Kumar Chaubey, a pensioner from Buxar, was honored. Chaubey, who has been visually impaired since birth, is the son of a former soldier. He shared that, with the assistance of the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions) office in Prayagraj, his family pension was swiftly sanctioned after his father’s demise. This approval enabled him to receive an arrear amount of INR 15 lakh, and he currently receives a monthly pension of INR 21,000, allowing him to support his family effectively.
Anugrah Narayan Das commended this effort and encouraged officials and employees to remain committed to assisting retired defence personnel and their families. Additionally, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the call center established in this office, he congratulated all officers and staff members. He also unveiled the plaque of a newly equipped room furnished with state-of-the-art technology.
Notably, the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pensions), Prayagraj, has successfully digitized pensioners’ data through the SPARSH system with complete transparency. This initiative enables pensioners to access their pension details online from the comfort of their homes while also allowing them to update their personal information conveniently.
