Lucknow: A five-day training program of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was started in the presence of Women Welfare Child Development and Nutrition Minister,  Baby Rani Maurya and Minister of State for Women and Child Development and Nutrition, Pratibha Shukla in the Yojana Bhawan Auditorium, Lucknow.

The main objective of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is to improve the health related behavior of pregnant women and lactating women and provide them financial assistance so that pregnant women can get adequate health benefits during pregnancy and after the delivery of the child.

Under the scheme, the beneficiary will be given Rs 5000 in two installments (first installment Rs 3000, second installment Rs 2000) on the birth of the first living child (boy or girl) and Rs 6000 in one installment on the birth of the second living child (girl only). To avail the benefits of the scheme, registration of eligible women will be done on the pmmvy.wcd.gov.in portal with the help of Anganwadi workers.

The application process will be done online only through PMMVY portal. To avail the benefits under PMMVY, it is mandatory for the beneficiary’s bank/post office account to be linked with Aadhaar. The installment of benefits will be transferred online through DBT to the beneficiaries of the scheme.

In the training organized , all the District Program Officers of the state, representatives of UNICEF and UPTSU received training. All the trainees present were trained by the Content Writer/Scientific Engineer from Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, New Delhi and NIC Government of India.

The training program was conducted in collaboration with NIPSID and now all the Child Development Project Officers of the state will be trained on 20, 24, 25 and 26 June 2024. Director, Child Development Services and Nutrition Uttar Pradesh, Additional Director, Finance and all Deputy Directors of the Department etc. were present in the training program.
