Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s capital witnessed a massive display of enthusiasm and organisational strength as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President and Rajya Sabha MP Nitin Nabin received a grand welcome during his first official visit to Lucknow after assuming the party’s top post.
Nabin was welcomed at the State Hangar by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, State General Secretary (Organisation) Dharampal Singh, BJP State Vice-President Dr. Neeraj Singh, Lucknow Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, cabinet ministers, legislators, and party representatives. Leaders greeted him with bouquets and ceremonial shawls.
A grand felicitation procession was then taken out from the airport to the BJP state headquarters, where Nabin was accorded a warm reception at 42 different locations across the city. The route passed through Kanpur Road, Transport Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Alambagh, Charbagh, Hazratganj, and Lok Bhavan before concluding at the party headquarters.
More than 20 decorative welcome gates adorned with BJP flags, flowers, and banners were erected along the route. Party workers, social organisations, and local residents showered flowers, presented garlands, and organized cultural performances to greet the BJP chief.

Representatives from a wide range of social and community groups, including the Gautam, Kayastha, Pal, Rajbhar, Parvatiya, Lodhi, Yadav, Brahmin, Marathi, Vaishya, Christian, Sindhi, Sahu, Sikh, Punjabi, Bengali, Kshatriya, Sonkar, Bhojpuri, Patel-Maurya-Kushwaha, Valmiki, Pasi, and Nishad communities, participated in the welcome ceremonies. Several groups presented traditional mementoes and symbols representing their respective communities.

The procession also showcased Lucknow’s cultural heritage through folk dance performances and community-led celebrations. Throughout the journey, Nabin acknowledged greetings from party workers and citizens from an open vehicle, while chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” and “Bharatiya Janata Party Zindabad” echoed across the city.
One of the highlights of the event came outside Lok Bhavan, where the BJP OBC Morcha welcomed the national president with a massive floral garland hoisted by a crane. At another location, MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora greeted Nabin with Lucknow’s popular street snack, jhalmuri, drawing appreciation from workers and onlookers.
BJP’s various wings, including the Youth Morcha, Mahila Morcha, OBC Morcha, Kisan Morcha, and Scheduled Caste Morcha, actively participated in the celebrations. Party workers were seen showering flower petals from elevated platforms and decorated vehicles, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The welcome programme was coordinated by BJP State Vice-President Dr. Neeraj Singh and Lucknow Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, who oversaw arrangements throughout the route. Party leaders described the event as a powerful demonstration of organisational unity, discipline, and grassroots support, reflecting the BJP’s strong presence in Uttar Pradesh.
