Lucknow: The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, inaugurated a 10-day regional-level Khadi exhibition at the Gomti Nagar Riverfront near Chatori Gali. The event was graced by DGM of Bank of Baroda, Mohammad Mahfooz Nishat, Dr. Nitish Dhawan, State Director of KVIC, and Umesh Kumar, Deputy CEO of Khadi and Village Industries.
The exhibition, running from January 4 to 13, featured 75 stalls representing different states, showcasing a wide range of products from various rural industries. These include Kumkum Gramodyog, Janaki Devi Gramodyog from Lakhimpur Kheri, DK Leather Products from Hardoi, and several others.
Dr. Dhawan highlighted the participation of entrepreneurs from seven states, noting the success of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in promoting rural industries. Cultural programs and daily events will also enhance the exhibition, which aims to provide opportunities for young entrepreneurs and create employment.
