Governor Anandiben Patel Inaugurates New Branch of Lucknow Public School in Bareilly

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated a new branch of Lucknow Public School in Bareilly, underscoring the importance of quality and inclusive education in shaping the nation’s future.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor lauded the initiative by the school’s founder S P Singh Baghel, calling it a commendable step toward strengthening the education sector in the district. She emphasized the need to equip students with skills and knowledge to face global challenges, stressing the importance of technical education, modern curricula, teacher training, and skill development.

Highlighting the transformative role of education, she said that it should go beyond textbooks to include value-based learning. “Teachers are not just educators but architects of the nation’s future,” she remarked, adding that India must strive to reclaim its position as a global knowledge leader.

The Governor also spoke about the importance of inclusive education, urging institutions to extend opportunities to underprivileged children. She appealed to the school management to provide free education to at least five children from slum areas, stating that true progress is achieved when education reaches the last mile.

Referring to ongoing welfare initiatives, she noted that efforts under the “Jan Bhavan” initiative are helping identify and support children from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with platforms to grow. She also appreciated the arrangement made for distributing two sets of uniforms to 500 students.

Stressing the need for outreach, she encouraged universities to extend their expertise beyond campuses to villages, benefiting farmers, youth, and women. She also called for a balanced focus on academic growth and moral values, noting that education plays a key role in addressing the erosion of family values in modern times.

The event featured cultural performances by students, showcasing themes of communal harmony and patriotism, which were appreciated by the Governor. She also distributed chocolates and fruits among the children, encouraging them to pursue their goals with dedication.

The ceremony was attended by Mayor Dr Umesh Gautam, District Panchayat Chairperson Rashmi Patel, Vice-Chancellor K P Singh, former MLC and administrator Kranti Singh, Managing Director Sushil Kumar, General Manager Shikhar Pal Singh, and Harshit Singh, along with other dignitaries, students, and parents.
