Bareilly: The meeting of the District Level Food Safety Advisory Committee was held in the auditorium of Vikas Bhawan under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar.
In the meeting, the District Magistrate sought information about the compliance of the instructions given in the previous meeting. Information was provided by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department regarding timely disposal of complaints on IGRS as per rules, regular action on food items, adulterated milk, sharing the list of suspended/cancelled establishments of medical establishments, disposal of pending cases etc.
The District Magistrate directed to increase the number of licenses/registrations as per the target by getting the food licenses and their registrations of food business operators in the district done as much as possible. He directed to take effective action and get sample collection done to prevent adulteration of food items, especially milk, sweets, desi ghee, edible oil especially mustard oil, fast food and ready meals etc. by using harmful colors etc. He also directed to share the list of suspended/cancelled drug establishments with the association and publish it in the media.
The District Magistrate expressed satisfaction over the departmental work and directed to take necessary action to improve the FSSAI rating of Bareilly district. He directed to organize awareness programs to prevent adulteration in as many food items as possible by taking feedback from the invited members of the Food and Drugs Organization. He stressed on ensuring the availability of safe food and beverages and essential medicines to the general public and directed to take effective action against establishments operating without drug license in the district.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishram Singh, City Magistrate Rajiv Kumar Shukla, District Supply Officer Neeraj Kumar Singh, District School Inspector Devki Singh, District Basic Education Officer Sanjay, Mandi Secretary, Divisional Assistant Commissioner (Food), Assistant Commissioner (Food) II, Drug Inspector and other related officers were present in the meeting.
